Emergency Medical Services

The Chesapeake Fire Department has provided emergency medical care since the first day the city existed. Care has evolved from simple transport units with a driver trained in first aid to providing both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) transportation. All of our medic units and engine companies are equipped to provide ALS service when needed.
