Specialty Teams

The Chesapeake Fire Department Specialty Teams respond to situations where additional specialized equipment and knowledge is needed.  They are highly trained and provide support across the city and in other municipalities as needed.

Our Hazardous Materials Team responds to any incidents involving the release of hazardous materials.

Our Technical Rescue Team responds to any incident that involves entranglement or rescue from a precarious situation.  Common responses include vehicle entrapments and industrial accidents.

Our Foam Team uses foam firefighting to extinguish fires of chemical and hazardous materials because water is not successful in these incidents.
