Traffic Signs

Traffic sign are placed on public roads in accordance with the Uniform Manual for Traffic Control Devices published by the Federal Highway Administration. Traffic signs may also be placed along roadways in the interest of public safety at the discretion of the City’s traffic engineer. Questions regarding the placement of traffic and cautionary signs should be forwarded to Public Works by calling the Chesapeake Customer Contact Center at 382-CITY(2489).
