Steel Bridge (Dominion Blvd)

Located on Route 17 Dominion Boulevard north of Cedar Road Crosses the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River Twin bascule span, two lane bridge operated by the City of Chesapeake Constructed in 1962 Daily Vehicle Traffic: 32,500 Height (At Mean High Tide): 12 feet Weight Limits: None Bridge and Roadway Improvement ProjectView updates on the progress of the project here.
The replacement of the Steel Bridge is currently the City's "number one" transportation priority. Design work is complete. The initial phase will include the following improvements:
