The mission of the Criminal Investigations Section is to serve as the investigative body of the Police Department. This Section is charged with the responsibility of investigating all Part I and selected Part II offenses. The Section is composed of the following units: Fraud / Check Unit, Photography Unit, A.F.I.S. Unit, Auto Theft Unit, Crime Scene Search Unit, Crimes Against Persons Unit, Property Crimes Unit, Property and Evidence Unit, Public Information Officer, Sexual Trauma Unit, and Crime Line Coordinator.

Investigations assigned to this Section include, but are not limited to the following: Crimes against the person, Crimes against property and Special Investigations.
