Tips on caring for your pet
Your pet depends on you for its well being and protection. Here are some tips to insure their proper care:
Keep your pet confined to your home or yard. Cats can live long, healthy lives completely indoors.
In Chesapeake, over 2,300 lost animals a year are unclaimed. If you lose your pet, visit the Shelter first. A photo of your pet is required to file a lost report. Please do not call. We do not know your pet. Don't assume your pet is stolen. Check the Shelter!
ALWAYS keep collars and tags on dogs and cats. These are a lost pet's ticket home. Pets may even have permanent micro-chip identification implanted under their skin.
If you have questions about laws, pet care, behavior or training, please call CASU. If we cannot help you, we will refer you to someone who can. Don't give up on your pet. There is a solution somewhere and we are here to help.
