Dogs Off Leash
Because of the many different users on the trail (joggers, bikes, horses, small children and people with fears of dogs) your dog may unexpectedly react in an adverse way to other users. Also, landowners next to the trail hunt bears on their property with dogs. Bears will run from dogs and if your dog runs on the other side of the bear, the bear may run in a direction that may be towards you. If you have a leashed dog, the bear will not approach you. If a person without a dog sees you with your dog off leash, they may believe that unleashed dogs are permitted and in the future, bring their unleashed dog.
