City Park Events Impacted by the Renovation
Chesapeake City Park is under going a major renovation, and during that time, several large events will be held at other locations in Chesapeake in 2012. This list will be updated as plans are finalized. Here are a few:
June 2 & 3: 16th Annual American Indian Festival
Greenbrier Middle School

Celebration features American Indian storytelling, traditional dancing, and demonstrations. Native jewelry, crafts, festival and Native American food vendors; Saturday’s & Sunday 10 am to 6 pm. Don’t miss the spiritual “Grand Entry” at noon Saturday and 1 pm Sunday. Event is FREE to the public. July 3rd Concert/FIREWORKS

Join us for a holiday concert w/ Fireworks @ 7:30 on the Bagley Stage. Come out and celebrate our nation's birthday under the stars, featuring lively music and a fireworks finale! October 7: Bark In The Park

Bring your canine out to City Park for a dog-gone good time. The event features vendors, animal rescues, games, contests, demonstrations, great food and more! This event is a great resource for pet owners and an awesome time for the entire family. The event begins at 12 pm and ends at 5 pm; Presented by Chesapeake Parks and Recreation and Chesapeake Humane Society. Event is FREE to the public. November 17 & 18: Indian River Christmas Craft Show

Get your holiday shopping started early. Talented artisans display and sell their crafts at this traditional opening of the holiday shopping season in Chesapeake. Sat. 10 am-5 pm and Sun. 12-4 pm. FREE admission. Parents don’t forget your camera for pictures with Santa! A holiday clown will also be at the show with fun children’s activities. Concessions will be available for purchase.
