What's Going on at Chesapeake City Park?

The substantially-complete Chesapeake City Park OPENED on September 17, 2012, when the contractors removed the barriers at park entrances and officially turned the project over to the city. We are looking toward spring 2013, when the city will hold a major grand opening of the entire, renovated Chesapeake City Park.

Continuing into the fall, there are several smaller scale projects and punch-list items which will need to be concluded and may require partial closings of sections for a short time; notification will appear in signage at the park, on the city webpages, press releases and social media such as Facebook. Several major events will take place in the fall which may require temporary closing of sections currently open. Look for updates as they occur.
