Youth Institute Chamber (YIC)

The YIC is an opportunity for students to learn more about the City of Chesapeake and gain skills in how to use their personal strengths in making a difference for their City. The YIC works in partnership with the Chesapeake Chamber of Commerce and the Chesapeake Public Schools.

The Youth Institute Chamber collaborates with volunteers and community business partners to work directly with students, providing job shadowing and placement which address the unique interest of the students.

Students are selected from Chesapeake middle schools, grades 7 and 8. The participants meet once a month from June – February.
