Custody, Visitation and Support

Pre-Trial Efforts

You must bring all financial information with you to court. This includes check stubs and/or W-2 forms, health insurance information, childcare information, and any other information pertinent to determining support obligations.

Contested

If custody, support, and/or visitation issues are contested, there will be a pre-trial (preliminary) court appearance first, then the matter will be continued to a later date for a contested hearing.

Guardian Ad Litem

The court will require Guardian ad litems to submit written reports effective January 1, 2003. In order to accurately assess issues ranging from the quality of representation to costs, it is imperative that a written report be made a part of the court file. In addition Guardian ad litems must submit their List of Allowances including an itemization of time and expenses upon disposition of each case to the judge on the day of court.
