Applicants Needed for City Boards and Commissions
CHESAPEAKE -- The Chesapeake City Council is seeking residents who may be interested in serving on various boards and commissions. Boards and commissions provide a vital service to various City departments, agencies and City Council.
Citizens wishing to serve must complete an application form. Applications are due in the City Clerk's office by May 1, 2012. City Council will appoint candidates for these vacancies during its May 22, 2012, meeting.
Applications are currently being accepted for the following vacancies:
- Animal Services Advisory Board 2 appointments
- Chesapeake Board of Historic & Architectural Review 1 appointment
- Chesapeake Committee on Aging 1 appointment
- Chesapeake Planning Commission 1 appointment
- Chesapeake Tourism Advisory Board 1 appointment
- Citizens Juvenile Advisory Council 1 appointment
- Tidewater Community College Board 2 appointment
- Tidewater Regional Group Home Commission 1 appointment
Applications are currently being accepted for the following previously advertised vacancies:
- Chesapeake City Symbol Committee 3 appointments
- Chesapeake Commission for the Prevention of AIDS 1 appointment
(1 citizen who is HIV positive) - Natural Event Mitigation Advisory Committee 1 appointment
(1 business representative) - Towing Advisory Board 1 appointment
(1 citizen who has no ties to the towing/recovery industry)
