Chesapeake ... Clean and Green Poster Contest
Poster Contest
The "Chesapeake ... Clean and Green" Poster Contest is sponsored by the Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Council (CEIC) and is intended to encourage the viewer to start thinking and stop littering. There are five categories for entries based on the school grade of students entering a poster. Cash prizes are awarded.
- 1st Place - $100
- 2nd Place - $50
- 3rd Place - $25
Schools receive a $50 check for the teacher of each first-place winner to use for a celebration party or any classroom need.
Registration Deadline is Friday, March 8, 2013. To register send an email to SpecialPrograms@cityofchesapeake.net or call 757-382-6411.
Volunteers will pick up the posters on Friday, April 5, 2013. Posters must be in the school office by 8:00 A.M. Homeschoolers may deliver posters to the Parks & Recreation Office at 1224 Progressive Drive, Suite 200 or to a nearby community center.

2012 Poster Contest Winners
Winners of the Chesapeake . . . Clean and Green Poster Contest were honored by Mayor Alan P. Krasnoff on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Students were presented with a certificate and had their pictures taken with the Mayor. Winning entries were displayed in the City Hall lobby during the week of May 21.
First-place winners receive a $100 check, second-place winners receive a $50 check, and third-place winners receive a $25.00 check.
Sponsored by the Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Council (CEIC), the contest is open to all Chesapeake students in grades K through 12.
