The purpose of the Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Council shall be to promote interest in the general improvement of the environment of Chesapeake thereby making Chesapeake a cleaner place to live.

Mission:
To promote litter prevention, recycling, and beautification by providing citizens an opportunity to get involved at the grassroots level.
About the CEIC:
Eighteen volunteers are appointed by the Mayor to serve on the governing board. However, thousands of other volunteers are actively involved in CEIC projects and sub-committees. Visitors are welcome to attend CEIC monthly meetings. Meetings are held at the River Crest Community Center on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 12:00 noon. Since lunch is served, it is a good idea to call (757-382-6411) before coming to the meeting. No regular meeting is held during the months of July, November, or December.
