CITIZEN INFORMATION MEETING
CHESAPEAKE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
Elbow Road Widening - Phase II
Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Greenbrier Middle School (Cafeteria)
1016 Greenbrier Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23320

The purpose of this Citizen Information Meeting is to receive public input on the City’s proposed widening of Elbow Road from the eastern end point of the Phase I widening project (approximately 3/4 mile east of Centerville Turnpike) to the Virginia Beach city line.  The proposed project will widen the existing roadway to create two 12-foot lanes with paved shoulders as well as roadway drainage (ditch) improvements.  Additionally, the City is planning to acquire right-of-way to allow for a future widening (Phase III) to a four-lane divided roadway.

The meeting provides an opportunity for any individual, association, citizens’ group, or governmental agency to offer comments for the project record. The meeting is an open house format, and citizens are welcome to come and go at any time throughout the duration of the meeting. City staff will be available to answer questions. Comments may be submitted at the meeting or submitted to the Chesapeake Department of Public Works no later than December 1, 2019.
