Joint Juvenile Justice Center Informational Meetings: The Department of Human Services and Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice will answer questions from citizens about the construction of the Juvenile Justice Center on 3315 S. Military Highway this Monday, Jan. 23, in the Hugo Owens Middle School Cafeteria, 1997 Horseback Run; Feb. 9 in the Damuth Trane Meeting Room, 1100 Cavalier Boulevard; and Feb. 22 in the Deep Creek Middle School Cafeteria, 1955 Deal Drive. Chesapeake…Clean and Green Poster Contest: The Clean and Green Poster Contest is a student contest to help promote litter prevention. The contest is open to students in grades K-12. To enter, a teacher or parent must register online. Registration Deadline: Feb. 24.
Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Awards: Nominations are being accepted to recognize individuals, groups, or organizations that have excelled in recycling, beautification, and litter control projects. Deadline for registration is Jan. 31. Awards will be presented March 1.
